How we build it

A bathroom packs waterproofing, drainage, plumbing, ventilation, tile and lighting into a few square feet. What you see on the last day depends on what was done before the walls closed.

We remodel primary suites, guest baths and powder rooms, usually down to the studs. Tile layouts, niche locations, valve heights and blocking for grab bars and accessories are agreed in advance, so nothing is decided on the day by whoever is on site.

Most of our baths are part of a larger remodel, where a primary bath grows into a suite with a closet, or two or three baths are rebuilt in the same palette. The same project manager runs the bath and the rest of the house, so the plumbing, the tile order and the inspections fit one schedule.

What's included, and who it's for

What's included

  • Layout changes, walk-in showers and freestanding tubs
  • Waterproofing, drainage slopes and ventilation
  • Tile, stone, vanities, fixtures and glass
  • Plumbing and electrical updates, including lighting
  • Accessible features such as grab bars and curbless showers
  • Primary closets as part of the same scope

Who it's for

Homeowners creating a primary suite, updating baths as part of a whole-home remodel, or reworking a bath that has outlived its plumbing. As with kitchens, we take on select stand-alone bathroom remodels.

How we approach it

What goes behind the tile matters most. The waterproofing membrane, the shower pan slope and the vent fan's route outside are checked before tile starts.

If you choose a tile or fixture that costs more or less than its allowance, the difference is shown to you in writing before anything is ordered. Two or three baths done together usually cost less per bath than the same baths done one at a time.

Questions we hear often

How much does a bathroom remodel cost in Los Angeles?

Our pricing guide shows a current planning range per bathroom for a full gut remodel with design and permits. The written proposal after a site visit is the real price.

How long does a bathroom remodel take?

It depends on the scope, the permit and the lead time of your tile, fixtures and glass. We order the long-lead items before demolition, so the bath isn't out of service while you wait for them.

Do you build curbless or accessible showers?

Yes. A curbless shower needs the floor recessed or built up and a careful slope to the drain, so we plan it before demolition. Blocking for grab bars can be added now even if you don't install them yet.
