Who we are

1 Degree Construction, Inc. (“1 Degree,” “we,” “us”) is a licensed general contractor (California CSLB License #1075129) based at 13107 Ventura Blvd #206, Studio City, CA 91604. This policy covers our website, 1degreeconstruction.com, and the calls, emails and text messages we exchange with you about your inquiry or project.

What we collect

Information you give us. When you fill out a form, call, text or email us, we collect what you share, such as:

your name, mobile phone number and email address;
your property’s city or address;
project details, such as the type of project, budget range, timing, notes, photos and plans;
whether you agreed to receive text messages, and a record of that consent (the wording you saw, the date and time, and the page you were on).

Information collected automatically. When you visit the website, we and our service providers collect basic usage information through cookies and similar tools: pages viewed, the site or ad that sent you here (including campaign tags and ad click IDs), device and browser type, and IP address. We use this to understand how the website is used, to measure our advertising, and to block spam and fraudulent ad clicks.

Calls. Our website shows a call-tracking phone number so we can tell which page or ad led to your call. Our call-tracking provider records the number you called from, the time and length of the call, and the page you came from.

How we use it

To answer your inquiry, call you back and schedule site visits.
To prepare proposals and contracts, and to manage your project.
To send appointment confirmations and reminders, project updates, and invoice and payment reminders.
To send text messages, only if you agreed to receive them (see “Text messages” below).
To improve our website and measure which advertising works.
To prevent spam, fraud and abuse, and to meet our legal, licensing and tax obligations.

Text messages

If you check the text message box on one of our forms, text us first, or agree on a call, we will send texts about your inquiry and project through our “1 Degree Construction project texts” program. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. Full details are in our SMS Terms.

We do not sell, rent or share your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.

Text messaging opt-in data and consent are excluded from every other kind of sharing described in this policy. The only companies that handle them are the service providers that send and deliver our text messages for us, and they may use them only for that purpose.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:

Service providers that help us run our business, such as website hosting, our customer database, phone, text messaging and email providers, analytics, spam and click-fraud protection, and payment processing. They may use your information only to provide their services to us.
People working on your project, such as designers, engineers and trade partners, when they need details about your property or project to do their part. This does not include your mobile number or text message consent for marketing purposes.
When the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our customers or the public.
If our business is sold or reorganized, to the company that takes it over, which must honor this policy.

Cookies and your choices

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the website still works without them. You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on.

To stop texts, reply STOP. To stop emails or calls, tell us by email or phone and we will update our records.

How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as we need it for the purposes above, including any warranty period on your project and the records that contractor licensing, tax and other laws require us to keep. After that we delete it or keep it in a form that no longer identifies you.

How we protect it

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards, and we limit access to the people and providers who need it. No method of sending or storing information is completely secure.

Your California privacy rights

Depending on the law that applies to us, California residents may have the right to know what personal information we hold about them, to correct it, to ask us to delete it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We will not treat you differently for using these rights. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to confirm your identity before we act on it.

Children

Our website and services are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
